passionately pursuing perfection

Juniper Glen Farm is located on just a few acres just south of Tolar, Texas… which for 99% of the world it’s more informative to simply say, that’s about 53 miles southwest of Fort Worth.  Our herd is tested yearly the primary concerns with dairy goats and we do have a rather strict biosecurity protocol, so we are unfortunately we are an appointment only farm. And while we do encourage anyone interested in dairy goats to get out and talk to breeders, meet them, and learn from them we do ask that you please respect our wishes and make an appointment.  You can find more about our herd health on our herd health page, and how to get in touch with us and make an appointment on our contact page.

On average we have found the sweet spot for our herd to be somewhere around 10-12 head of goats.  The small number allows and ensures that each and every animal gets the same kind of care and handling.  It’s a personalized approach. Every animal whether it’s a nine-year-old 6*M or if it’s a first freshener’s dreaded buckling, every single animal has daily human interaction.  It’s just how we do want to do things.

We are primarily a breeding stock and herd replacement farm.  We actually went into the dairy goat business not for the milk or other dairy products but for the love of our animals and the community.  It’s imperative that our animals can flourish in any herd setting… Whether it’s a pet home, a competitive show home, a family milker, or a commercial dairy we want our goats to be able to live long and productive lives where they make us and their owners proud of them..

Bud Dilworth - Chief Stall Mucker & Water Bucket Filler

Bud was asked to write his own ‘about me’ section; however, after it was made clear that he could not include the information regarding his Hollywood good looks or his stellar personality he decided it was best to allow Katie to write it.  He’s our man behind the scenes here at the farm, and efficiently fulfills his duties as show dad and husband. A retired diesel mechanic for many years before deciding to go into horseshoeing a bit late in life… he’s since decided to fully embrace the retired lifestyle.  While he does not do a lot of the hands-on, in-front of the camera things or participate in the show ring, without him we would never be able to do any of that. (On a side note, if you see him at the show please do not encourage his dream of becoming a comedian… we love him but he’s really not that funny.)

Charlene Dilworth - Professional Baby Goat Cuddler

Charlene was born in Oklahoma to a family of 11 children (so chances are if you are from Oklahoma we are probably related).  Raised in a cutting horse and Appaloosa family, her experience with goats didn’t really come until we moved to Tolar in 1996.  It was not love at first sight for her… maybe not even love at second sight either, but it’s hard not to fall in love with them at least a little bit when they are babies.  A housewife and 4-H show Mom for most of our time in Tolar except for the last few years.  A bail bond agent, she stays very busy with her job but she still manages to be that extra pair of hands or that extra body around to help with whatever needs doing at the farm or shows.  She’s our girl Friday. Since 1996, she’s helped us kid, raise, prep, show, and sell countless babies. If you see her at the show give her a big thumbs up.  Show Moms Rock!

Katie Dilworth - Paper Pusher, Web Designer, & Chaos Manager

And lastly, there is me.  Juniper Glen Farm is my little empire and the goats are obviously my minions.  Goats weren’t something that I ever believed I would fall in love with. I was a hardcore horse person (and still am) but something about the mischevious and cheeky nature of goats has made me fall in love with them.  They make me smile and forget whatever troubles I’ve had for the day. I have to love them because I do all of the fun chores. I push papers and keep records. Slave over the website and social media pages to show you how awesome my little minions are. I also do most of the day-to-day planning, hoof trimming, vaccinating, leash training, clipping, and milking.  Basically, if you name it and no one else is doing it… it’s my job. I love talking goats (or horses or dogs or cats or anything else) so don’t hesitate to find me at the show and come over to chat with me. It’s my goal and mission in life to be the breeder I needed when I started out. So, let’s talk!

herd health information

The health of our herd is something we take very seriously and are very open about.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.  Our herd was bought from breeders who offered disease test results to us.  I have not included them on the website but if needed can provide copies of previous test results.  We are adamant about our CDT vaccinations (we use Colorado Serum Company), hoof trimming, microchipping, and scur management.  We do also plan to add DNA and Alpha-Casein testing to our herd very soon.  Again, if there are absolutely any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
